Tim Tramnitz Bahrain Masterclass Boosts MP Motorsport to P2 in the Standings

The 2025 FIA Formula 3 season continued under the heat of the Bahrain International Circuit. After 3 previous testing days, MP Motorsport showcased progress and great pace all throughout. With Tim Tramnitz, Alessandro Giusti, and Bruno del Pino behind the wheel, the team took on the challenges of the desert circuit with confidence—securing valuable points and momentum heading into the European leg of the championship.

Practice

The weekend commenced on Friday with the practice session, where drivers acclimated to the circuit’s unique demands and analyzed how the track had changed from testing. Alessandro Giusti showed to be right on pace, consistently running within the top 5 and setting a strong foundation for the sessions ahead. Tim Tramnitz and Bruno del Pino focused on fine-tuning their understanding of the grip.

Final Results:

• P5 – Alessandro Giusti

• P8 – Tim Tramnitz

• P9 – Bruno del Pino

Qualifying

Qualifying was intensely competitive, with the top 20 drivers separated by less than a second. Alessandro was right on pace and was looking to take one of the top 3 positions throughout most of the session but a mistake in his final push lap placed him on the back foot, as the improving track conditions allowed others to climb the order and ultimately placing him in P9. Bruno del Pino delivered the standout performance, securing P5 with a near perfect lap—his best qualifying result in just the second round of the championship. Tim Tramnitz faced challenges and struggled to get into the rythem and ultimately making a mistake in a lap that could’ve placed him in the top 5 and, ultimately, settling for P13.

Final Results:

• P5 – Bruno del Pino

• P9 – Alessandro Giusti

• P13 – Tim Tramnitz

Sprint Race

With the grid set in one of the warmest days in the Bahrain International circuit, the Sprint Race was upon us, featuring a reversed top 12 grid. The first big moment came for Bruno, who was set to start from P6 but was forced to start from the pitlane due to a grid procedure issue, losing the opportunity to fight for points and therefore losing a big potential for points. Our Red Bull Junior, Tim Tramnitz, started from P13, just outside the points positions but having a great launch of the line he managed to executed a good drive, overtaking multiple competitors and fighting to finish P6. Alessandro Giusti started from P4—a strong position to challenge for the podium. However, after a difficult launch off the line, he dropped back and had to push to recover, ultimately finishing P7 and scoring his first points of the season.

Sprint Race:

• P6 – Tim Tramnitz

• P7 – Alessandro Giusti

• P17 – Bruno del Pino

Feature Race

The Feature Race was upon us and having seen the pace of our team during the last few days it was everything to play for. The clear standout of the race was Tim Tramnitz, who showcased an exceptional drive, climbing from P13 to secure a podium finish in P3 being 1 second faster than most of his competitors in the Top 10. His strategic decisions during battles and consistent pace were instrumental in our achievement. Bruno struggled to capitalize on his strong qualifying, losing positions in the opening lap but then finding his rythem finishing P9 with a last lap overtake and earning his first points in FIA Formula 3. Alessandro Giusti delivered a solid performance, after losing out positions in the beginning he recovered from P13 all the way up to P7 crossing the line in P7 and adding to the team’s points tally. Overall it’s a very solid result with all our 3 drivers in the points and bringing the team up to second in the championship.

Feature Race:

• P3 – Tim Tramnitz

• P7 – Alessandro Giusti

• P9 – Bruno del Pino

Driver Standings After Round 2:

Tim Tramnitz: P2 – 30 points

Alessandro Giusti: P15 – 10 points

Bruno del Pino: P19 – 2 points
